The Nine Plated

Make a tucked-away destination easy to imagine—and find.

The starting point

A website built around
the customer’s decision.

An underground restaurant and cocktail bar must communicate its atmosphere while solving a simple practical problem: helping a first-time visitor know where to go and what to expect.

The thinking behind the design

Details with a purpose.

01

Build the atmosphere into the opening

Low-lit lounge photography, warm cream type and a dark palette establish an intimate setting. The headline connects the venue to its below-street location. The visual tone matches the experience being described instead of behaving like a generic restaurant directory.

02

Make discovery part of the customer path

Find the entrance is treated as a useful action, not buried in a footer. Food, cocktails and private-event information support different visit intentions. The page helps someone move from curiosity to understanding the destination.

03

Keep the evening’s practical details visible

Menus, hours and location information sit close to the atmosphere. The opening distinguishes browsing the food and drink from finding the venue. This gives an interested visitor immediate ways to plan rather than only a broad invitation to visit.

Designed for the small screen

A small screen with the same evening atmosphere.

The mobile composition keeps the moody background and editorial type, with menu and entrance links clearly separated. A compact status and location area anchors the opening. The design preserves the venue’s character while making the practical steps easy to spot.
